Ahhh, it’s a new sunil broughlike!
Sunil mentions on his blog (where he’s written a very nice post about this game) that he takes a week off work each year to make a new game for 7DRL – last year he made Mosaic with Corey Hardt, which was one of my favourite games of the year. The year before, he made Escorial, which I also loved. So this is quite a hat trick! Highly recommended.
This is a really good one! But it only opens up to reveal its full potential once you realize you (eventually) have some control over the quality of trinkets you’re offered, adding a whole extra risk/reward dance (and making it possible to survive for much, much longer).
(I’m being cautious not to give it away completely, since to my eye at least the game treats it as a bit of a secret/surprise, but I wanted to hint at it here because while I’ve been playing this one off and on for the past few weeks, had I not seen a similar tip I’d likely have stopped after just a few attempts.)
